During our recent four day spell at the London Coffee Festival, where we were exhibiting, we spotted some innovative uses of coffee as well as byproducts of the coffee industry and just some great products that would enhance your business. These make ideal add-ons to any range sold in an independent coffee shop.
Pinwheel Balms
https://www.pinwheelbalms.com/
Siobhan is onto something here, she started making them when her baby was born and these coffee flavoured lip balms are special judging by the queue on the stand.
They are all hand made in the UK and can be ordered direct from the website.
They make a perfect impulse buy at the till because of the small amount of space they take up and attractive display box. Your coffee-loving guest will be surprised and delighted that they can savour their favourite taste all day.
You will be able to catch them at the Caffe Culture in May this year
Optiat Sustainable Body Scrubs
These guys recycle coffee from a London-based roaster to produce an all-natural sustainable body scrub that leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and stimulated. Their name stands for “One Person’s Trash Is Another’s Treasure” – OPTIAT.
The interest and energy on their stand was a pleasure to watch as thousands of people left with glowing skin! Coffee not only acts as a natural exfoliator but also the caffeine stimulates blood circulation, helping with cellulite, stretch marks, dry skin, acne and eczema amongst others.
#DoYourBit and #ScrubYourBits.
ECoffee Cup
A reusable takeaway coffee cup made from bamboo fibre! A great design with an easy to drink from, no drip silicone lid makes this cup a delight to drink from.
It’s super light, has a grippy silicone sleeve, doesn’t taint the taste of your coffee and is dishwasher safe.
The great news is that most coffee shops give you a discount for using your own cup so your guests will find it will pay for itself time and time again.
And 100 billion single-use coffee cups go to landfill each year #stopthe100billion

Cocoa Runners
Cocoa runners have put together a curated selection of some of the world best chocolate and made it easy for you to offer them to your guests. They supply a stand and help you tune the selection to your guests.
Your customers won’t find these on the high street, and the range is continually updated to keep it interesting.
Coffee shops stocking their chocolate have seen a big uplift in sales and profit from this area of their business with little effort, so it provides a unique opportunity for the independent coffee shop to differentiate itself even more from the faceless chains.
